Barcelona City Council will reorganise the first-floor offices of its Horta-Guinardó district sub-headquarters at 387 carrer de Lepant, creating workspace for nearly 90 municipal employees. The €33,800 contract is expected to take four months and will transfer staff from the district headquarters at 49 ronda del Guinardó.

For residents dealing with district services, the change will place the management office and the directorates responsible for people and territory, general and licensing services, and public space in the same building. The council says the arrangement is intended to improve communication between those departments.

## First-floor offices to be modernised

The Lepant Street building has housed the district sub-headquarters since 1900\. The planned work covers the redistribution, improvement and modernisation of its first-floor offices.

- Almost 90 Horta-Guinardó district municipal employees are due to be accommodated in the building.
- Staff will move from the district headquarters on ronda del Guinardó.
- The works include measures intended to improve energy efficiency, accessibility and working conditions.

The project is designed to bring the district's management office and its three directorates together at the Lepant premises, rather than leaving them split between the two sites.

## Part of a wider municipal office relocation

The reorganisation follows Barcelona City Council's wider move of 550 employees from several municipal areas to rented offices in the 22@ district. The new offices are at 121 carrer de Cristóbal de Moura and provide 8,400 square metres of workspace.

According to reporting on that relocation, the move was planned to begin on 7 April and finish on 30 June. The lease for the Cristóbal de Moura building runs for 15 years and is valued at €48.9 million; some staff are assigned instead to 218 carrer del Torrent de l'Olla.
