## Hackers Access User Database

On Monday 19th October 2026, hackers from a group calling itself ZentinelTeam accessed the user database of Club Natació Montjuïc, a Barcelona sports club founded in 1944\. The breach occurred around 9pm, and the group sent an email to members and users of the club’s padel and tennis facilities claiming responsibility. The message stated: “Dear CN Montjuïc customers, you have been hacked by ZentinelTeam. We have your data, which will be leaked or sold if the company does not pay us 5,000 euros within 48 hours.”

## Club Responds to Security Breach

The club issued its own email to affected users shortly after midnight on Tuesday 20th October 2026\. It clarified that the attack originated from a compromise of Syltek, the software used to manage bookings on the Playtomic platform, a service that allows reservations at various sports facilities across Barcelona. The email confirmed the breach came from within the internal database of that system.

> We are working with Syltek and the Catalan Cybersecurity Agency to determine which data may have been compromised and to block unauthorised access to our system.

The club said it is following guidance from Spain’s National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE) and is taking steps to secure its systems.

## Investigation Underway

Club Natació Montjuïc has reported the incident to the Catalan Data Protection Authority (APDCAT) and the Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia’s regional police force. The full extent of the data breach remains unknown. Affected individuals are advised to remain vigilant for suspicious communications, particularly phishing attempts, while investigations continue.

What this means for you: If you have booked padel or tennis facilities at CN Montjuïc via Playtomic, your personal information may have been accessed. Monitor your inbox for updates from the club and report any suspicious messages to authorities.
