# Generalitat to Spend €50m on Baix Ter Road Upgrades

The Generalitat will invest approximately €50 million to upgrade road safety and infrastructure across the Baix Ter region in the Baix Empordà comarca, [as Lavanguardia reported](https://www.lavanguardia.com/local/girona/20261102/11673975/generalitat-invertira-50-millones-euros-mejora-ocho-carreteras-baix-ter.html?ref=barna.news). The funds will target eight roads experiencing high traffic, particularly during summer months.

## C-31 and GI-643 Upgrades

The largest portion, €10 million, will improve the C-31 between Ullà, La Tallada d'Empordà and Verges, including integrating it with the GI-634\. The road will be widened to 10 metres with 3.5-metre lanes and 1.5-metre margins. A new roundabout at Canet de la Tallada and a segregated cycle and pedestrian path are under study.

Another €7 million will fund improvements to the GI-643 between Parlavà and Serra de Daró, including two new roundabouts at Sant Iscle and Fonolleres, bus stop upgrades, and road widening. These works will be tendered before the end of 2026.

## Further Projects and Public Consultation

An additional €6.5 million will expand the GI-643 between Serra de Daró and Gualta, improving the Gualta junction and Mas Bahí curve. Public consultation will begin in autumn.

Other projects include €6 million for the GI-632 between La Tallada and l'Escala, €1.6 million for a roundabout at Les Dunas in Torroella de Montgrí, and ongoing planning for the GI-633 and GI-634 between Colomers and Verges.

Last Friday, Secretary of Mobility and Infrastructure Manel Nadal updated mayors of affected municipalities on project progress.
