## Weapon Discovered After Public Altercation

The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the discovery of a firearm left in the middle of Carrer de Rocafort, in the Nova Esquerra de l’Eixample district of Barcelona, on Monday 19th October 2026\. According to police sources confirmed to betevé and first reported by El Caso, officers received a call shortly before 1 p.m. reporting a physical altercation in the street near number 140\. When patrols arrived, no individuals involved in the fight were present. Instead, officers found a firearm abandoned on the pavement, directly in front of a commercial building’s parking entrance. The weapon has been seized for forensic analysis to determine whether it is functional and capable of firing.

## Suspected Real Firearm, No Injuries Reported

Although forensic results are pending, initial suspicions indicate the weapon may be authentic. Police have not confirmed the type of firearm, but their investigation is treating it as potentially lethal. No shots were reported by residents or witnesses, and there are no known injuries linked to the incident. The Unitat d'Investigació (Investigation Unit) for the Eixample district has taken charge of the case. Officers are interviewing possible witnesses and reviewing security camera footage from nearby businesses to reconstruct the events leading up to the abandonment.
