## Uneven Rail Recovery After Storm Damage

Rail mobility in Catalonia is recovering unevenly this Sunday 4 October 2026 following heavy rains. Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) has resumed partial service on the Barcelona-Vallès line, but Rodalies remains suspended pending infrastructure safety checks. The S1 and S2 lines are operating at a reduced frequency of one train per hour per direction. This limited service is concentrating passenger demand, leading to significant crowding on early trains, particularly as they arrive in Sant Cugat with very high occupancy. FGC's current offering includes one train per hour between Plaça Catalunya and Terrassa Nacions Unides on the S1 line, and one train per hour between Sant Cugat and Parc del Nord on the S2 line. With Rodalies still not running, FGC is the only available rail link for many in Vallès Occidental.

## Rodalies Still Suspended

Rodalies has not yet restored circulation. The company is inspecting infrastructure and conducting exploratory runs to verify track and facility safety before resuming services. According to Rodalies Catalonia's official Twitter account, lines R1, R2, R2 Nord, R3, R4, R7, R8, R11, R13, R14, R17, RT1 and RT2 remain suspended until further notice. Only R2 Sud, R15 and R16 have resumed operation. A road replacement service began at 12:30 for lines R3, R13 and R14, and rail services on the Llobregat-Anoia line resumed at 14:00.

> Passengers are advised to check service status before travelling and follow official updates from railway operators.

FGC passengers can consult real-time timetables via the [FGC website](https://www.fgc.cat/en/fgc-network/l-barcelona-valles/en-lines-and-schedule-barcelona-valles-s2-barcelona-placa-catalunya-sabadell/?ref=barna.news), the FGC app, or by calling information line 012.
