Barcelona is gearing up for one of the most spectacular events on the urban sports calendar as the **Extreme Barcelona festival** kicks off this weekend at the **Parc del Fòrum**. Running from **Friday to Sunday**, the event will feature **more than 500 athletes** competing across multiple disciplines.

Barcelona’s Councillor for Sport, **David Escudé**, described the event as “one of the most spectacular sports events of the year,” emphasising that entry is **free of charge** for all spectators.

Organised under the **Urban World Series**, the festival aims to push the boundaries of urban sports every year. Director **Víctor Casanovas** said the objective is to deliver both “the best show for the public and the best facilities for athletes.”

Among the highlights, Olympic BMX champion **José ‘Maligno’ Torres**, who won gold at the **Paris 2024 Games**, will be competing in Barcelona.

In addition, for the **second consecutive year**, the **Freestyle Trampoline World Championship** will be decided at Extreme Barcelona, further cementing the festival’s global sporting relevance.
