Barcelona’s iconic **La Mercè festival** will close with its traditional **pyromusical fireworks show** on **28 September at 10pm**, this year featuring a soundtrack curated by the legendary Catalan band **Estopa**.

The announcement was made by the **Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB)**, which highlighted Estopa’s enduring influence over their **25-year career**, blending rumba, pop, and rock into some of Spain’s most recognisable hits.

The Muñoz brothers, **David and José Manuel**, said their playlist will combine “songs that move us and make us vibrate,” while also syncing harmoniously with the fireworks display crafted by **Pirotecnia Igual**.

Since 2023, La Mercè’s closing show has invited renowned artists with strong ties to Barcelona to design the musical selection:

- **2023:** Sónar festival curated the soundtrack for its 30th anniversary.
- **2024:** **Rosalía** presented the show, using the occasion to debut her single *Omega* with Ralphie Choo.
- **2025:** Estopa now takes the stage as cultural heirs.
