## €800,000 Reinforcement of Local Grid

Endesa will invest €800,000 to enhance the quality, capacity, and reliability of the electricity grid in Sant Vicenç dels Horts, Barcelona, the company announced on Tuesday 3rd November 2026\. The investment forms part of an ongoing effort to modernise the town’s power infrastructure and ensure stable supply for residents and businesses. Endesa has been coordinating with the local council to identify priority interventions and align upgrades with community needs.

## Completed and Ongoing Works

This year, Endesa has already installed half a kilometre of new underground medium-voltage cabling near the carretera de Sant Boi. It has also fitted a state-of-the-art low-voltage panel at the transformation centre on Carrer Àngel Guimerà, improving safety and operational efficiency. Technological upgrades are underway at nine transformation centres, including the installation of remote control systems to allow real-time monitoring and faster response to outages.

## Short-Term Upgrades Planned

In the coming weeks, Endesa will:

- Interconnect the transformation centres on Carrer de la Pobla, Prat de la Riba, and Sant Josep
- Increase transformation capacity at the centre on Carrer dels Fundadors
- Renew 500 metres of power lines on Carrer Enric Aymerich Rigol, Carrer Sant Josep, Carrer de la Muntanya, and Carrer del Serral

These measures aim to strengthen network resilience and reduce the risk of faults during peak demand.

> The company maintains regular dialogue with municipalities to monitor local needs and prioritise improvements that enhance service continuity.

The upgrades align with Endesa’s broader smart grid strategy, which includes digital monitoring, AI-assisted maintenance, and the use of advanced tools like LIDAR for substation safety, as detailed on [the company’s innovation portal](https://www.endesa.com/en/our-commitment/innovation/smart-grids?ref=barna.news).

---

Residents are advised to expect minor traffic adjustments near work sites, though major disruptions are not anticipated. No power cuts are currently scheduled as part of these works.
