## A New Location for the Paseo de Catrinas

Barcelona's traditional Paseo de Catrinas, held annually on 1st November to honour the deceased, will take place this year in Port Vell, from the World Trade Center to the Columbus Monument. The change of venue is due to ongoing renovation works on Las Ramblas. The event, organised by Mexcat Barcelona, a non-profit promoting Mexican culture in Catalonia, is set to transform the waterfront into a vibrant celebration space. In a statement on its Instagram account, the organisation described the new location as having "great charm", noting that "the sea and the light of the sunset will be the perfect backdrop to see dazzling catrines and catrinas parade."

## Family-Friendly Cultural Celebration

Mexcat confirms the event is open to all ages and designed for family participation, aiming to "reconnect as a community and share this wonderful Mexican tradition with all of Barcelona." The parade will take place in the afternoon, though an exact time has not yet been confirmed. Attendees are advised to monitor Mexcat Barcelona's social media channels for updates on timing and other logistical details.

## Workshop: Decorate a Mexican Skull

In addition to the parade, Mexcat is hosting a hands-on cultural workshop on Thursday 29th October at Carrer Mir Geribert in Sants-Montjuïc. Led by Mexican sculptor and workshop leader Karla Reynoso, participants will hand-mould and decorate traditional Mexican skulls. The experience costs €20 per person, with all materials included. Advance booking is required via a phone number published by Mexcat Barcelona on its social media.
