# Bus Plunges 20m in Fogars Crash

## Dozens injured in crash on BV-5114

At least 40 people have been injured, 20 of them seriously, after a bus collided with a car and plunged 20 metres down an embankment on the BV-5114 road in Fogars de Montclús (Barcelona) on Sunday 25th October 2026\. The Medical Emergency System (SEM) confirmed the extent of the injuries following the crash, which occurred at approximately 16:43 local time at kilometre point 18.4 of the road. Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene.

> At least 41 people have been assessed: 20 of whom are reported to be in serious condition.

The bus, operated by Sagalés on line 573 between Sant Celoni and Santa Fe del Montseny, had fallen down a steep ravine, rendering the vehicle inaccessible without technical rescue. The road remains fully closed in both directions to allow emergency operations.

## Major emergency response deployed

The Bombers de la Generalitat (Generalitat Firefighters) deployed 20 units, including two aerial teams, to stabilise the bus and extract those trapped. SEM activated 15 ambulances and two medicalised helicopters, while joint SEM-Bombers teams began assisting passengers on site. Catalan Civil Protection has activated its Procicat prevention plan in pre-alert phase. The 112 emergency number received 25 calls related to the incident. A reception centre has been set up at Can Ramis in Sant Celoni by Civil Protection and the Red Cross to support affected individuals, with psychological support teams also on call. The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, said he was in constant contact with ministers Núria Parlon and Olga Pané to monitor the situation. No official statement has been released regarding the cause of the crash.
