Across Barcelona city and the surrounding area, conditions are forecast to be at their most severe between 20:00 tonight and 02:00 on Sunday. Protecció Civil's ES-Alert message, in its Spanish-language version, gave the wrong time of 00:00; this has now been amended to 02:00. - Meteocat has issued a severe-weather warning at the maximum danger level of 6 out of 6 for the Vallès Oriental, Maresme, Vallès Occidental and Barcelonès, in force until 21:00\. It forecasts hail over 2 cm in diameter, wind gusts exceeding 90 km/h, downbursts and the possibility of tornadoes or waterspouts. - In the lower Maresme, Meteocat reports that the stationary storm over Cabrils brought exceptional rainfall. The service recorded 65.4 litres per square metre in half an hour, along with 37.8 in ten minutes. That figure is a record for ten-minute rainfall at its automatic stations. - Figures cited by 3Cat show that 64 litres per square metre fell on Vilassar de Mar within 35 minutes. Santa Maria de Palautordera has been hit by flooding. - Protecció Civil has issued a hydrological risk alert for the Maresme, with the Catalan Water Agency warning that river flows could rise suddenly.
