The Barcelona City Council has approved the relocation of around 500 municipal workers to offices in the 22@ district, with a rent cost of €48.9 million over 15 years.
The move involves teams from the urban planning, housing, and heritage areas, currently based near Glòries square. The contract was awarded to Poniente Items for a building on Cristóbal de Moura street, with a cost 32% lower than previous rent and 11% below the bidding price. The decision was supported by the PSC-led government, Junts, Barcelona en Comú, and ERC, while PP and Vox abstained. However, concerns were raised about the lack of communication with affected employees. Will the city council address these concerns effectively?
