Mayor Collboni will join Àlex Balletbó, President of [Amics de la Rambla](https://www.amicsdelarambla.cat/?ref=barna.news) (Friends of La Rambla), and Roger Pallerols, President of the [Gremi de Restauració](http://www.gremirestauracio.com/?ref=barna.news) (Restaurant Guild), for the announcement. This initiative seeks to gain more space for pedestrians and enhance the commercial and restaurant offerings on La Rambla. The reorganisation coincides with ongoing construction work on the central section of La Rambla. Additionally, Fifth Deputy Mayor Raquel Gil and Barcelona City Council’s Chief Architect Maria Buhigas will also participate in the press conference.

## Enhancing Public Space on La Rambla

La Rambla, a 1.2-kilometre tree-lined promenade stretching from Plaça de Catalunya to Port Vell, is one of Barcelona’s most famous landmarks. It attracts millions of tourists and residents annually. The reorganisation addresses long-standing concerns about the balance between pedestrian flow and commercial activity in this busy area. The City Council has developed these municipal actions in collaboration with local businesses and civil society groups.

## New Territorial Planning Criteria

The upcoming presentation will detail the new territorial planning criteria guiding the use of public space. These criteria aim for a more harmonious environment on the historic boulevard. Officials expect the changes to improve the overall experience for both visitors and residents. This initiative reflects the city’s commitment to revitalising its most emblematic public spaces.
