The action will affect all train driver personnel across Renfe group companies. The resolution, signed by Miquel Sàmper, Minister of Business and Labour at the Generalitat, allows for the percentages to be distributed unevenly based on operational needs, provided the overall service does not exceed the stated thresholds. It states that essential infrastructure services must still be maintained to ensure transport can function effectively. Renfe will be required to determine which staff are strictly necessary to operate these minimum services, excluding members of the strike committee. --- ## SEMAF Demands Safety Improvements SEMAF announced the strike last Friday, citing the failure of previous negotiations through the Conflicts Commission. The union says there has been an administrative deadlock over safety agreements, including protocols for extreme weather emergencies, new driver recruitment, accident response, and rolling stock reliability. The union is demanding that climate emergency protocols be made binding and enforceable, and that communication rules during high-risk situations be clearly defined.
